The boys’ and girls’ Mathews Cross Country took the course on Wednesday, Oct. 8, against the following teams Rappahannock, Northumberland, and Westmoreland.

The boys placed first with a total of 15 points and the girls placed first with 19 points. The top three boys placed first overall in 18:30 with a three-way tie between Blake Hunley, Chance Higginbotham, and Jon Jenkins. Following for the Devils was Ivar Golden in 18:33, Adam Greve (19:09), Dominic Winters (19:27), James-Allen Morgan (20:34), Marvin Ouma (JV) (22:14), and Lincoln Williams (23:37).

For the girls, Elizabeth Moore placed first overall with a time of 22:21 and not too far after was Paige Morris in 23:42. Next for the Lady Devils was Morgan Stearns in 24:25, Allean Rowe (24:25), Jordan Sadeg (25:22), Kylee Swanson (26:00), Lyla Duff (26:43), Keira Cannon (26:52), Rayann Helbig (28:44), and Grace Keel (32:41).

Wednesday afternoon took Blue Devils to Beaverdam Park and a chance to honor senior runners Blake Hunley, Chance Higginbotham, Jon Jenkins, Salvador Cardenas, Dominic Winters, Justin Pressnell, Morgan Stearns, Lyla Duff and Rayann Helbig.
