Blood drives to be held in Gloucester

The American Red Cross is offering two opportunities this month to donate blood in Gloucester County.

From 1-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, a bloodmobile will be held at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, 8784 Guinea Road, Bena. And from 2-7 p.m. the following Tuesday, March 30, another drive will be held at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6470 Main Street.

March is Red Cross Month, and the Red Cross is celebrating blood, platelet and plasma donors for stepping up to meet the constant need for blood amid the pandemic. As a way of showing thanks, all who come to give March 15-26 will receive an exclusive Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last.

Donors are asked to schedule an appointment prior to arriving at the drive and are required to wear a face covering or mask while at the drive, in alignment with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention public guidance.
