Mrs. Billie Evalin Wellborn Plummer Robinson Hayes of Gloucester County, Virginia, died July 22, 2016, at Gloucester House, Gloucester, in hospice care at the age of 97.

She was born in Deepwater, New Jersey, on May 5, 1919, the daughter of Don Malcolm Wellborn and Mary Evaline Casler. She first married Horace Christopher Plummer, son of Edward Yancy Plummer and Sarah Elizabeth Sears of Turks Ferry, Petsworth, Gloucester County, on November 21, 1937. After Horace’s accidental death on March 29, 1945 at a Maryland ship yard she returned to New Jersey and was married second to Maurice Robinson and then to James Hayes.  

At her request, a private family service will be held at a later date. 

A memorial stone for her has been placed at Salem United Methodist Church, Gloucester, near her husband, Horace Christopher Plummer, the father of their children Donald Horace, Robert William and Christine Mary Plummer.
