Jim Pryne has been named the new sales manager at Bill Hudgins GMC, located on Route 17 south of Gloucester Court House. Pryne said he oversees three sales associates and also sells new and pre-owned vehicles himself.

Pryne has 24 years’ auto sales experience, having been a sales manager for 20 years. In all, he worked at three dealerships on the Peninsula before starting at the Bill Hudgins dealership in mid-March.

Before getting into automotive sales, Pryne said he served 10 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, with his highest rank staff sergeant. He served part of that time as a Marine recruiter, enjoyed the interpersonal aspects, and decided to try sales.

Originally from Wisconsin, Pryne resides in Newport News. His wife Cheryl is a homemaker. They have four children and five grandchildren.
