Beverly Sweet, 68, of Gloucester, passed away on Jan. 3, 2026.

Born on Feb. 24, 1957, in Newport News, she was the daughter of the late Betty Jean and Lewis H. Riley.

For 33 years, she served Gloucester County Public Schools Transportation as a school bus driver and trainer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Clyde Nicholas Sweet II.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde Nicholas Sweet, and a grandson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Gloucester American Legion, 5849 American Legion Way, Gloucester, Va. 23061.

Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News, is handling arrangements.
