BEVERLY R. KEMP

Beverly R. Kemp, age 95, of Hayes, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012.

He was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon for many years.

He was a long-standing volunteer of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital and enjoyed this opportunity to serve others. He was an avid fisherman and gardener and took much pleasure in sharing with others the fruits of his labor.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, William B. “Billy” Kemp.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mary Kathleene Kemp; daughter-in-law, Linda J. Kemp; three granddaughters, Charlene and husband Morris, Billie Jean and husband Chris, and Penny and husband Cheslie; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Becky Fanning, and one brother, Bobby Kemp.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Ray Goude Sr. will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in the Kemp Family Cemetery located at the entrance to Providence Baptist Church.
