Beverage to become director of student services

Gloucester High School principal Layton “Tony” Beverage will step down from that position and become the director of student services for Gloucester Public Schools on July 1. The re-assignment was announced in personnel actions taken by the Gloucester School Board during its April 15 meeting.

Beverage has served as principal at GHS since 2005. He will replace Rita Cargill-Brown, who retired on April 1 as the division’s student services director. 

Also during the April 15 meeting, the board accepted resignations from Gloucester High School teachers Greta Melson and Katrina Smith, Peasley Middle School teacher Karyn Bristow and Achilles Elementary teacher Erin Hagen. 

Resignations were additionally accepted from teacher assistant Andrea Robinson, technology technician Joshua Fetherolf and support services employees Danielle White and Cynthia Eubank.
