BETTY MAXINE MEYER MANCILL

Betty Maxine Meyer Mancill, 86, of Dutton, passed away quietly on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.

She is survived by her husband, Al Mancill. She is also survived by four children; 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Norman Knapp, Donna Monroe and Marilyn Voelsburg. 

She was born in Quincy, Illinois, in 1931. She moved to New London, Ohio, in 1947.

She later married Harold Chandler (deceased) and their children, Juanita Wilson (Ray) of Newport News, Howard Chandler (Bo) of Dutton, Rodney Chandler (Marie) of Wakeman, Ohio, and Deborah Rivers of Westland, Michigan. Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren are as follows: Julia Tiffany with Heather, Kaitlyn and Jennifer, Amy Przymuzala with Mason and Miles, Darrell Chandler (deceased), Robert Chandler, Molly Chandler, Kayla Worcester with George, Jennifer Bradley, Joseph Rivers Sr. with Jamisha and Joseph Jr., Jessica Spreights with Justin, JaQuan and Jamie, Jesse Clark, Josyln Williams with Jaylen and Jashon.

Betty and her husband Al moved to Virginia in 2004 to be closer to two of her children. She loved to cook and was very good at it. She worked for Largo Medical Center for a good portion of her life. She was a strong believer of donating blood and received recognition from the American Red Cross for the 15 gallons of blood that she gave in Florida. She continued that in Virginia and gave another gallon and a half. She loved to sew and made many beautiful clothes. She loved music and became a regular at Donk’s Theater in Mathews. She enjoyed doing puzzles, pencil art, and solitaire. She also leaves behind her beloved puppy, “Butch.”

Family and friends will be gathering for a celebration of her life at Howard and Bo Chandler’s home on Sunday, July 8, 2018, from 1-5 p.m. at 9223 Dutton Road, Dutton.

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family with arrangements.
