Betty Mae Fanning-Gaskins, 82, of Hayes, died at her home April 20, 2017.

She was born Feb. 18, 1935, the first of 12 children to Percy W. and Fannie M. Jenkins. Betty was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Melinda Ottarson (Donnie), Gail Brown (Kenneth), Betsy West (Jessie), Margaret Gaskins and Kenneth Gaskins (Marsha); her sisters, Patricia Williams (John), Frances Owens, Nina Greene (Leon) and Gloria Meade (Tom); brothers, William Henry Jenkins, Gene E. Jenkins (Sylvia), Warren Jenkins (Stella), Raymond Jenkins, and Randy Jenkins (Shannon); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special niece, Terri Gordon.

A graveside funeral service conducted by the Rev. Chris McMillan and the Rev. Carol Bookwalter was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery.
