Betty Long Dunn, age 84, of Hayes, died on Jan. 13, 2022 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Riverside and spent her free time sewing. She was also a wonderful grandmother and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Long and Daisy Trevathan Long, along with her siblings, Louise Long Hulcher, Jimmy Rufus Long Jr. and wife Phyllis (living), Donald J. Long and wife Suzanne (living). Betty is survived by her husband, L. Slade, and two children, Bryan Dunn (Janet) and Sherry Brunner (Bob). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Josiah Dunn (Audrey), Chris Brunner, Michelle Pfeiffer (Andrew) and Laura Brunner (Jay), and one great-grandchild, Addie. The family will receive friends at Providence Baptist Church on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, starting at 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., with a memorial service beginning at noon, conducted by Pastor Tom Gaskins. Inurnment will be private. In memory of Betty, contributions may be made to the Church Mission Fund at Providence Baptist Church, 3501 Providence Road, Hayes, Va. 23072.
