BETTY ANN HUDGINS

Betty Ann Hudgins, 79, of Onemo, Va., went to be with her "Precious Jesus" on Saturday, March 31, 2012 after a brief illness.

She had faced many different challenges over the past two years and she had faced them with great courage, great determination and an unwavering faith in her Jesus. Many hours of her day were spent praying, calling each person by name.

Betty Ann was a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful selfless mother, and a devoted "Nana Betty." Her friends and family were deeply treasured by her. She was a longtime member of Mathews Chapel and Bethel United Methodist Churches.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl McCoy Hudgins Jr., and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hudgins.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Brenda H. Payne and Rick of Lanexa, Va.; grandson, Chris Rice of Williamsburg, Va.; devoted sister, Joyce Hudgins and husband Tabb of Port Haywood, Va.; a very devoted and loving caregiver and dear friend, Flora Clarke of Onemo; and several very special friends whom she loved dearly.

The family received friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012, in the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Va. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, in Bethel United Methodist Church, Onemo. Burial followed in Pear Tree Cemetery, Onemo.
