‘Better Together’ service to address mental health, addiction crisis

Del. Keith Hodges (R-Urbanna) has extended an invitation to area churches and community members to join a “Better Together” church service, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 15, from 4-7 p.m.

This event will take place at Lebanon Baptist Church, situated at 11821 Tidewater Trail, Saluda. The service will focus on the pivotal role of churches in addressing addiction and mental illness in our communities, emphasizing the pressing need for collaborative solutions, a release stated.

“It is an opportunity to gain insights into the challenges faced by Virginians and discover how faith-based communities can be a catalyst for change and healing,” according to the release.

Following the service, all attendees are invited to take in a discussion moderated by Hodges. This discussion will explore practical strategies for how churches can actively contribute to solutions in addressing addiction and mental illness. The event is open to all.
