Bethany UMC to host forum on aging on Feb. 21

Bethany United Methodist Church, 1860 Hayes Road, Gloucester Point, will hold a panel forum on aging from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The forum is open to older adults and health care professionals who are seeking educational credits. Boxed lunches will be handed out after the forum. There is no charge to attend.

Topics include:

“Avoiding Common Health Care Scams,” presented by Shawn Smith, state director of the Virginia Senior Medicare Patrol;

“Aging in Place,” presented by Gada Saunders, owner of Upgrade Remodeling;

“What Seniors Need to Know About Estate Planning,” by attorney Angela Manz, owner of The Law Office of Angela Manz;

“Senior Safety,” presented by Capt. Bill Adams of the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, crime prevention specialist and Project Lifesaver coordinator, and

“What You Need to Know About Dementia and Alz-heimer’s Disease,” presented by Doug Panto, community programs manager of the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeastern Virginia...
