Bethany UMC to hold town hall on drug issue

Misuse of prescription and illicit drugs has become more prominent in the community, according to a news release from Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point. Regardless of age or vocation, anyone can become addicted, even though young people are more at risk.

Bethany will host a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, to provide the community the opportunity to hear information and ask questions about this ongoing health and social dilemma.

The director, a counselor and a nurse from the American Addiction Treatment Center LLC will give a short presentation and be available to answer questions.

Their goal is to heighten awareness and sensitivity to the problem, as well as direct us to sources of local assistance available for those who are struggling with this issue, whether that is you or someone you love, a release stated. All are welcome to attend, including youth directors, teachers, parents, students, health care providers, and concerned citizens.
