Bessie Rowe Berry, age 100, of Hayes, died at her home on Monday, Feb. 8, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Emmett and Mildred Riley Rowe, a lifelong member of Union Baptist Church, Achilles, and retired as librarian from Gloucester High School. Ms. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Berry Sr.; sons, Robert F. Berry Jr. and David E. Berry. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Berry Ronk; grandchildren, John Christopher Berry, Noah Franklin Berry, Heather Berry Stinson (Jason), Angela Ronk Rainey (Scott); nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In memory of our loved one, contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church, 9254 Guinea Road, Hayes, Va. 23072. Services will be private; family guidance under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home.
