A funeral for Deacon Bernice Barbara Goode, 94, of Gloucester, was held at noon Monday, Nov. 9, in Bethel Baptist Church, Gloucester. She died Nov. 2, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freedom B. Goode.

She was a native of Ocala, Fla., and a Gloucester County resident for many years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Meals On Wheels volunteer, Gloucester Senior Citizens Center attendee, and World War II United States Army Women’s Army Corps veteran. 

Survivors include a daughter, Portia Goode-Hurd; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Burial with military honors was in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. 

Howard Funeral Home, Ark, was in charge.
