A memorial service for Bernard Darrell “Joe” Bolen, 68, of Gloucester, was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10 in Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. He died Feb. 5, 2020.
He was a native of West Virginia, graduated from Hampton High School Class of 1969, moved to Gloucester County in 1984, and retired after 50 years from the Newport News Shipyard as a Senior Designer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia, and parents, Carl and Ruby Bolen.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Bolen; children, Rickey Bolen, Melissa Hershey, Ray Belvin, Chris Belvin, Laurie Forsthye; brothers, David Bolen and Franklin Bolen; three grandchildren, as well as a host of additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The service was conducted by the Rev. Joel Calhoun and the Rev. Brenda Calhoun.
