BERNARD ‘BERNIE’ LEWIS WALTON JR.

Bernard “Bernie” Lewis Walton Jr. of Gloucester Point, born Sept. 7, 1946 died on June 25, 2017. 

He was a charter member of Gloucester Point Baptist Church. He attended Gloucester High School and graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College. He served in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lucille Walton.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Lynn; son, Lyle Walton and his wife Catherine; daughter, Rhonda Williams and her husband Sam; grandchildren, Seth Williams, Maggie Williams, Sophia Walton, Stella Walton, and soon to be Baby Boy Walton; sister, Gloria W. Breeden and her husband Bill; brother, Dennis Walton and his wife Wonza, and many nieces and nephews. 

Bernie was always willing to help anyone who needed help. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He had a deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will be forever missed.

A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Bud Goude at Gloucester Point Baptist Church on Thursday, June 29. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
