Bernadine White Meeks, 98, passed away on Oct. 1, 2026. She lived in Richmond, Mathews County, and Newport News, Va.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernadine Mesick White; father, Marley Bruce White; brother, Marley “Buster” Jackson White; sister, Mary Lois Demao, and husbands, Claudie Hamilton Cooke, Frank G. Perkins, Joseph E. Meeks.

She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Richmond, Va., and New Creation Ministries in Mathews, Va. She worked as a bookkeeper and became an ordained minister later in life.

Bernadine enjoyed crabbing, fishing, travelling, sewing, and won awards for her crafts.

She is survived by her children, Glenn White, Brenda Cooke Pelluet, Gail Cooke, Cathy Cooke; son-in-law, Michael Treger; grandchildren, Beth Sepelyak (Mike) and Chesa Pelluet; three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Interment will take place on Saturday, October 24, at 11 a.m., Woodland Cemetery in Ashland, Va.
