Berkley Traveling Gavel

Achilles Masonic Lodge took in the Berkley Lodge Traveling Gavel after visiting Botetourt Lodge in Gloucester on March 5 to qualify. Botetourt had been awarded the gavel a month earlier by visiting another lodge. The Berkley Lodge Traveling Gavel originated with the Chesapeake Lodge in 1973 to encourage visitation between Masonic lodges. Bryce Leonardo from Berkley Lodge attended the March 5 meeting and gave the history of this traveling gavel to the attendees of this meeting. Shown here with the Berkley Traveling Gavel are, from left, Brian Williams, Larry Aiken, Bryce Leonardo, Shane Eller (Botetourt Lodge Master), Mitchel Dunston, Tommy DuBose, Rick Taylor (Achilles Lodge Master) and Mick Sites.
