Benjamin Albert Holmes, 87, of Farmville, formerly of Gloucester, passed away on Jan. 9, 2026.

Born on Nov. 8, 1938 in Paterson, N.J., he was an 82nd Airborne paratrooper.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Holmes; mother, Pauline Holmes, and sister, Catherine Mickens.

Survivors include his daughters, Bethia Green and Stacia Anderson; brother, Frederick Holmes; sister, Lorraine Cox, and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held at Bland-Reid Funeral Home, 413 Griffin Boulevard, Farmville, Va. 23901 at 11 a.m. on Jan. 31.
