Benefits of art and aging topic of 4th Friday program

Rick Griffin, a forensic psychologist, artist and Middle Peninsula Fine Arts Association of Gloucester board member, will present a talk on “The Amazing Benefits on Art and Aging” at 6 p.m. Friday in the Guinea Heritage Association Fourth Friday presentation at the Buck’s Store Museum, Bena.
The later years are sometimes viewed through the negative lens of physical and mental decline, social isolation and loneliness. However, participation in art activities has been shown to enhance cognitive functioning and improve physical and mental health.
There will be time for questions and sharing, as well as light refreshments after the program, a release stated....
