The Band from Misfit Beach will perform at Flat Iron Crossroads from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at a “Free Pop-Up Party” to raise funds for a venue volunteer who lost her home to fire earlier this month.
Martha Matthews, venue coordinator, said that volunteer Susie Blythe lost nearly everything she owned when her Shacklefords home burned up on Sept. 3. She had no insurance, and the fundraiser is to help her get back on her feet.
The concert will be performed on a donation basis, with jars set up to collect funds, and any tips offered by guests will be added to the donations. There will also be a raffle, with all proceeds going to the volunteer.
Food will be by Positive Pizza, said Matthews, with a percentage of the earnings being donated to Blythe, while any profit made from the venue’s sale of beer and wine will go toward her, as well.
