Editor, Gazette-Journal: I began my law practice in Mathews County in 1991. Since that time, the Gloucester County Circuit Court Clerk’s office has played a pivotal role in my career. In those early years, Charlie King was the elected clerk, whose shoes have been amply filled since then by Ann Gentry, Margaret Walker and Cathy Dale, who recently retired. It is an election year and, fortunately, the citizens of Gloucester County have a wonderful opportunity to continue that fine legacy of public service by electing Michele Beck as the new Circuit Court Clerk. Michele, who is the current Chief Deputy Circuit Court Clerk, has the skills necessary to provide all of us with quality service. With her extensive experience in probate as well as in docket management, trial logistics and deed recordation, she comes well prepared to lead her wonderful staff on day one.
