Beaverdam still open for fishing

Beaverdam Park remains open for fishing, according to Park Ranger Elizabeth Keefer. Anglers may fish from shore or launch their own watercraft using a self-serve launch permit system set up at the Ranger Station.

Keefer said largemouth bass were the most frequently caught fish at Beaverdam last week. She said one fisherman reported hooking a two-pound bass from shore using a Wacky Worm and a couple of days later he caught a three bass from shore using a small crank bait. There were also reports of black crappie and sunfish being landed.

The water temperature has reached 65 degrees on the surface in the reservoir and is at 64 degrees about seven feet down.
