Crown of Glory Beauty Salon opened for business July 10 on Buckley Hall Road, Cobbs Creek. The shop is open Wednesdays through Saturdays, with appointments only on Tuesdays.

Owner Brenda Heard runs the shop alone. She offers a full range of hair care for women and children and offers braids for men.

Among some of her services are relaxers, cuts, styling, weaves and color.

Heard is a licensed cosmetologist. She plans to open a beauty school later at the same location, which is in a building which also houses Curves, a nail/gift shop and a massage business.

Heard has 15 years’ hair care experience. Most recently, she owned a beauty salon in Sandston. Earlier, she ran a beauty school in Fredericksburg.

Originally from Jersey City, N.J., she now resides near Richmond.
