BBQ man has ‘always kept a finger in the food business’

“Food Is Good, Life Is Good” is the philosophy Bob Stifel has practiced his entire life. He has kept this in mind, from being a professional chef to career man (shirt and tie) to businessman (“Bob’s Best Quality BBQ Seasonings and Rubs”). No matter where he was or what he was doing, “I always kept a finger in the food business.”

Bob grew up in Connecticut where his father, mother, and grandmother were excellent cooks. “I always knew I wanted to be a chef.” He became a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York and his first job was in Williamsburg. His career went on to serve as executive chef in several other restaurants for several years.

After being tied down in a kitchen for long periods of time Bob made the decision and with friends moved to Virginia where he obtained a bachelor degree from George Mason University, “but still having my finger in food business.”
