Baystars youth soccer report

HAMMERHEADS: The Baystars U11 Hammerheads topped the Legacy Peninsula Wizards, 3-1, on Saturday at the Warhill Sports Complex. Aaron Hines scored two first half goals for the Hammerheads, one assisted by Cole Christensen. Hines then completed his hat trick in the second half, his second hat trick in back-to-back games. Hammerheads’ goalie Bryce Fischer had a clean sheet in the first half and second-half keeper Jackson Mandell allowed only one in his debut at goalie. Ashton Taylor and Caden Thompson provided a great effort on both offense and defense for the Hammerheads.

MARAUDERS: The Baystars U13 Marauders played the VA Rush ’08 team to a 1-1 tie at Woodville Park on May 9. After a scoreless first half, Henry Sowers scored for the Marauders after a direct kick reflected off the goal keeper. The last 10 minutes was a battle and Rush managed to even it up. Corey Skay and Sowers had great play in the final stretch.
