Baystars FC: Athletic complex would be a big score for Gloucester

The leadership of Baystars FC has a game plan with one goal—build a top-of-the-line athletic complex in Gloucester County. 

Using a 42-acre parcel that runs from Short Lane to just behind the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society property, the football club would create a facility with a half-dozen fields, indoor and outdoor practice facilities, parking, walking paths, and greenway connections to nearby entities like Gloucester Little League.

The highlight of this complex would be a stadium-style field large enough to accommodate regulation professional soccer, rugby and Gaelic football matches. With amphitheater seating on the slopes leading down to the field, stadium lights and potentially even an artificial turf playing surface, this field would be the gem of the facility.
