The newly established Bayside Republican Women’s Club, will hold its inaugural meeting at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Cobbs Creek Arts Center.

The club was chartered in Mathews County “by a group of Republican women committed to the traditional principles of the Republican Party,” a news release said.

Open to the public, the meeting will feature Mathews resident Tim Doss, Superintendent of the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center. The center services five area jurisdictions: Essex, King and Queen, King William, Middlesex and Mathews counties. It has a capacity for 121 inmates.

Doss will address issues regarding the maintenance of inmates with mental health conditions and the difficulties associated with their management, the release said.

The Arts Center is located at 61 Cobbs Creek Lane. No reservations are required, visitors are welcome, and light refreshments will be served, according to the release.
