BayPort FCU opens branch at Bethel Elementary

BayPort Federal Credit Union opened its branch in Bethel Elementary School with a ribbon cutting on Dec. 13, and now has branches in all eight Gloucester County Public Schools. 

Kris Moore, who heads up BayPort’s in-school banking programs, said Gloucester is the only school division with a BayPort branch in every school. She said the credit union has 155 members through its in-school programs in Gloucester.

BayPort opened a kiosk in Gloucester High School last year, and that branch operates daily during and after school and during lunch blocks. Students, overseen by a faculty advisor, operate the GHS branch.

The branches at Page and Peasley middle schools are open once a week, and students conduct the credit union’s business with some help from a BayPort consultant. The branches at the elementary schools are open once a month, and are operated by BayPort consultants.
