Baylands FCU receives award for financial literacy

Baylands Family Credit Union, based in West Point, has received the Desjardins Financial Education Award for Virginia.According to the Credit Union National Association, the Desjardins program was developed to recognize leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of financial literacy for all ages. Baylands Family won the award for the adult division and will now compete on a national level against credit unions across the country in similar asset size.

“All of us at Baylands Family Credit Union recognize the importance of financial literacy for all ages,” Baylands FCU president and CEO Teresa Millis said. “We believe financial literacy is truly the foundation of leading a healthy financial life. Whether you’re 8 or 80, we can all keep learning and growing in this particular area which is why we put such an emphasis on it here at Baylands.”
