Bay Transit increases its RCC scholarship to $2,000

Bay Transit, the public transportation division of Bay Aging, has announced that the 2023 edition of its Rappahannock Community College scholarship will be $2,000.

With funds generated from sponsorships of Bay Transit’s annual “Art in Transit” judged competition, as well as a $1,000 match from the RCC Educational Foundation, Bay Transit was able to double the scholarship fund.

The Bay Transit Scholarship is awarded each spring for one of Bay Transit’s frontline employees, the employee’s children, or employee’s grandchildren, who are, or will be, attending RCC. The scholarship is one of several measures Bay Transit has taken to bolster their ongoing frontline employee recruitment and retention efforts to help ensure continued excellent customer service standards during the current tight labor market.
