Bay Transit Express service to expand in county

Bay Aging will be expanding its Bay Transit Express service zone almost all the way to Gloucester Point in late September, according to Bay Aging President and CEO Kathy Vesley.

Vesley made the announcement during a recent dedication of a bus shelter at the River Bend Apartments in Gloucester, the county’s third and the 15th such shelter located throughout Bay Transit’s 12-county service area.

Since launching Bay Transit Express in late June 2021, ridership has steadily increased, culminating in a record 541 rides provided in June 2022.During its first year of operation, Bay Transit Express provided 4,485 rides to users in and around the Gloucester Court House area.
