Bay School to celebrate Pi(e) Day on 3/14

A Mug Meet-Up & Market to celebrate Pi(e) Day will be held from 1-3 p.m. next Tuesday, March 14, at the Bay School Community Arts Center on Main Street in Mathews

While many pizza restaurants celebrate Pi Day (3.14) with their own kind of pie specials, said a press release, the Bay School’s celebration is focused on pie of the dessert variety—and on handmade ceramic pie baking pans.

Ceramic pie pans will be for sale for $40 each, along with slices of homemade pie, said the release. The proceeds will go to the Bay School’s new kiln fund. The school needs a third kiln to meet growing student needs, as well as to fire all the Empty Bowls for this year’s December fundraiser for Hands Across Mathews. Coffee and tea will be available at no charge.
