Bay School issues call for artists

The Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews has issued a call for artists to enter the Art Speaks 2022 ninth annual Juried Art Exhibition.

The show will open April 30, 2022 with a reception and will run through May 30. It is open to all Virginia artists and includes both 2D and 3D media.

Prizes total $5,000, including $1,500 for Best in Show. The early-bird deadline for entries is Feb. 1. The final deadline is March 1.

In celebration of the school’s 25th anniversary, Wendy Wells, founder and first executive director of the Bay School, will be the judge and juror. Wells’s paintings and collages have won numerous juried show awards, and her work is in collections across the U.S. and Europe. Honored with a one-woman exhibit, she was also nominated for the coveted Alli Award and recognized in the International Art Expo in New York City.
