Bay School in Mathews to hold juried show

The Bay School Community Arts Center will hold its fifth annual Art Speaks on the Bay Juried Art Show from May 6 to June 3.

The show, which will feature 84 Virginia artists from across the state, will open with a reception at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, in the Art Speaks Gallery at the school, which is located at 279 Main Street in Mathews. The public is invited.

Professional photographer Jeffrey W. Allison of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts will judge the show. Allison is the museum’s Paul Mellon Collection Educator and Manager, Statewide Programs and Exhibitions. As juror, he selected 95 two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces from 358 entries to be featured in the show. The works represent a diverse collection of art in over 25 artistic media.
