The Bay School Community Arts Center on Main Street, Mathews, has a busy August ahead, with adult and children’s classes planned for most every day of the month.

Adult classes being offered include Bee Watercolor Painting, Intermediate Wheel Throwing, Portrait Drawing in Charcoal, Prong Setting Pendant in Art Clay Silver, Steamed Crab Acrylic Canvas Painting, Creative Abstraction in Oil and Cold Wax 2, and Fall Harvest Pumpkins.

Children’s classes for the month include Fundamentals of Clay 2, Elephant Watercolor Painting, Funky Face Wall Hanging, Dragon Eye, Paper Mache Blue Whale, Fairy Doors and Mommy & Me—Hot Air Balloon Art.

In addition, ongoing classes include Open Studio, Cello Lessons, and Pottery Open Studio. Summer Art Camps for youth include Littles (ages 4-6)—Winterland, Teens (ages 12-17)—Art Inspired by Music & Poetry, The Nature of Drawing (for ages 13-18) and Book Making (ages 10 and up).
