The Bay School Community Arts Center’s “The Art of Travel Show” has been extended for an extra month, until March 24.
Although a traditional opening for the show wasn’t possible on the original opening date, said a press release, the gallery believes that recent changes to the space will now allow a reception to be held to celebrate the art.
The reception is planned for 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the gallery on Main Street in Mathews. Drinks and refreshments will be served.
The Art of Travel includes artwork that is inspired by forms of travel, travel destinations, and famous locations. Nearly 60 pieces of art from 20 artists are included in the exhibit.
The People’s Choice Award, “Waiting ATL Diptych” by Bob Carlson, was chosen by the OpenArts After School Kids. The students carefully inspected every piece of art from the exhibit, said the press release, and made comments about the winner, including that it looks real, has pretty tones, and included planes.
