Bay School auction/gala to be held Sept. 30

The Bay School’s annual fundraising auction and gala will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Parson’s Point in the Glebe.

The theme is “Taking Flight” to celebrate launching into a new era of program growth after 25 successful years serving the Mathews community and beyond, said a press release.

Parson’s Point is the home of Robert and Amy Chase, said the release, and the gala will be held “under the big tent.”

Brian Marshall will cater the event with flights of finger foods, and music will be provided by The Tony Mata Trio.

The evening will feature a live auction that includes travel, local experiences, and art, along with the return of popular items such as a home-cooked Indian dinner and a private bourbon tasting.

A silent auction of themed collections, along with more art and such exciting experiences as dune hang-gliding in Nags Head, will round out the offerings.

Items may be previewed online, and online bidding begins Sept. 9.
