Bay Rivers named nation’s Outstanding Rural Health Organization

The Bay Rivers Telehealth Alliance, a nonprofit telehealth network based in Tappahannock serving the Middle Peninsula, Northern Neck and Eastern Shore, was one of the top winners at the National Rural Health Association’s 2025 Rural Health Awards ceremony.
The local alliance was honored as this year’s Outstanding Rural Health Organization at the NRHA’s 48th annual Rural Health Conference on May 20-23 in Atlanta.
BRTA’s approach revolves around a network of 13 member organizations and more than 40 community partners that have been collaborating for more than 20 years. Their combined resources and knowledge enable BRTA to address health care challenges in rural Virginia, including mental health care, substance use disorder treatment, mobile integrated health care, and more, a release stated.
