Bay Quilters donate 27 quilts to RISP

Bay Quilters, a Mathews-based quilt guild, meets monthly to provide education and learning to its membership related to all things quilting.

At its most recent meeting, Service Projects Chairperson Pat Calautti, invited Elizabeth Lyon, Director of the Rural Infant Services Program (RISP) to address the group. Lyon educated the quilters about RISP, an Early Intervention Program, and afterwards, the group presented her with 27 quilts to provide families within the program.

Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board’s RISP is part of The Infant and Toddler Connection of Virginia, and provides support and services for babies, from infancy to 3 years old, at home. Referrals can be made by anyone, from your baby’s doctor to a family member when you are worried about how your baby is learning and developing.
