Bay Aging is helping bring together law enforcement, emergency services, health care providers and other community organizations to strengthen support for older adults and caregivers through the revitalization of Gloucester County’s Triad/Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (S.A.L.T.) initiative, a Bay Aging release stated. The partnership grew from a community response to a missing older adult living with dementia. Bay Aging quickly became part of that coordinated response: Bay Transit was alerted to provide additional eyes in the search, and Bay Aging was asked to share guidance with responders about dementia-related behaviors. The individual was found with minimal injury, and the experience underscored the importance of coordinated, informed action when an older adult is at risk.
