Bay Aging brings holiday joy to older residents

Bay Aging’s annual Santa for Seniors gift program brought holiday joy to over 70 low-income older adults across the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.

This year’s initiative was made possible by the generosity of local residents, churches, businesses, and community groups, who rallied together to provide a record number of gifts.

This effort highlights the compassion and unity that define the community, according to Bay Aging Administrative Coordinator Peter Mertens.

For many of the recipients, these gifts served as their only source of holiday cheer, making the impact of this program even more profound, he said. The Town of Urbanna and River House Creations served as collection points for the gifts.

“This program highlights the incredible generosity and compassion within our community,” said Kathy Vesley, President and CEO of Bay Aging. “Together, we’ve brought joy and hope to older adults, ensuring they feel valued and supported this holiday season.”
