Brent and Becky’s Bulbs in Gloucester is celebrating Bat Week through Saturday, and invites interested persons to visit the shop and gardens to learn about the beneficial role of bats through pollination, insect control and seed dispersion.

Other upcoming events at the business include a talk by Sandy Pait on growing mushrooms, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, as part of the monthly informational meeting hosted by Gloucester Master Gardeners at no charge.

A session on forcing bulbs for holiday blooms is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. Participants will learn how to force bulbs and may bring containers or purchase them at the shop. There is no charge to participate except for the cost of materials. Register by calling 804-693-3966; class size is limited and COVID-19 protocols will be followed, a release said.
