Barn fire

A barn on a property at Ark was completely destroyed by fire on Saturday. Members of the Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to the report of a structure fire on White Oak Drive after heavy smoke was noted coming from the area. According to GVFRS spokesperson Hanna Carson, the first arriving units found a barn with heavy smoke that was partially collapsed. All animals had gotten out of the structure. She said units were on scene for nearly three hours conducting fire suppression and overhaul operations. She said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. She reported that four engines, a tanker, a rescue truck, one medic unit and approximately 20 volunteers responded to the fire. Photo courtesy of GVFRS ...
