BARBARA (LYNN) BRANT WILKINSON

Barbara (Lynn) Brant Wilkinson, 65, of Gloucester, Virginia, died on April 15, 2023, with her husband of 47 years by her side.

Lynn was born on October 18, 1957, in Scranton, Pa., to Alvin Brant and Barbara Brant. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, David (Dave) Wilkinson; brothers, Thomas Brant and Kevin Brant (Sharon); daughters, Judith Dubey (John), Julia Wilkinson, Elysha Wilkinson, and Coral Litzau (Adrien); granddaughters, Brenna Wilkinson, Ireland Wilkinson, Amber Goens, Bridey Dubey, Leanne Goens, and grandson, Alexander Litzau.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Brant and Dr. Barbara A. Ritch-Brant, and great-granddaughter, Audrey.

Lynn and Dave moved to Gloucester in 1994, while Dave was still active-duty Coast Guard (Yorktown); retiring two years later and remaining in the community they had come to love. Lynn was an active member at Olive Branch United Methodist Church for nearly 30 years. She left her career in health care as a CNA to become a devoted caregiver for several of her grandchildren, then her own mother, until her death in December 2022 at the age of 93. Just prior to Lynn’s death, she was bravely battling cancer (for the second time); all the while stoutly refusing to allow anyone to worry too much about her, and continuing to always put other’s needs above her own.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Olive Branch Church at 2 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend. Preparations/cremation services and support at the ceremony will be provided by Andrews Funeral Home. Donations can be accepted in lieu of flowers to Olive Branch Church, LLC, 10833 Harcum Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
