BARBARA GORMAN CHANDLER

Barbara Gorman Chandler, 86, of Warsaw, Virginia, passed away on Feb. 21, 2023. She was born on Oct. 28, 1936.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Chandler, and two daughters, Debra Botkin and Katherine Chandler. She was survived by five children, Terri Baldwin (Bubba), Vickie Chandler, Janie Gruetler (Edward), John Chandler (Debbie), Leslie “Bubba” (Paula); grandchildren, Gray, Chris, Cora, Carrie, Michael, Sam, Carla, Samantha, Adam, Chelsia, Johnny, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Alana, Anastasia, Ethan, Mason, Connor, Shiloh, Jax, Knox, Kai, Bodhi and Latham.

Throughout her many happy years she lived, she accomplished many admirable things such as fostering many children in need and opening a group home for the deaf and blind. She also spent time lobbying for the deaf and blind community by attending many workshops and offering her interpreter services to Middlesex County public schools. Barbara made her mark on every life she touched with her memorable smile and her famous “I love you” sign. She was also the champion of rummy. She welcomed everyone into her home and treated them as family and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Barbara will forever be in our hearts and be loved and missed dearly! The family wishes to thank the people who cared for her including Tiffany, Sharon, and many others.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Tappahannock, on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, assisted the family.
