Barbara F. Minter, 82, of Mathews, passed away May 26, 2018 peacefully at her home with her family beside her.
She retired as a dispatcher at the Mathews Sheriff’s Office and served as an EMT with Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad. She was a dedicated member of Bethel UM Church, Onemo.
She was predeceased by her parents, Marshall and Belva Forrest; her sister, Ella Brown; son-in-law, Tony DeLaurentis; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Morgan, Mary Enos Diggs, and a special niece, Nancy Diggs Discus.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leonard Minter; her children, Gina Rowe and husband Cleve, Lennie Minter and wife Aida, Alan Minter and wife Donna, and Sharon Delaurentis; grandchildren, Kevin and Jenna Rowe, Adam and Suzie Rowe, Bill and Meagan Robertson, Nikki Minter, Heather Minter, Ashley and Jacob Bain, Beth and Jeff Leigh; special niece, Katie Klein, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Wanda Southerland, Goldie West and Janis West, and a brother, Marshall Forrest.
The family would like to thank special caregivers, Leanne Bennett, Paula Cullison and Riverside Walter Reed Hospice.

The family received friends on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, Onemo, with burial following in Pear Tree Cemetery, Onemo.
