BARBARA ELIZABETH HAYNES WRIGHT

Barbara Elizabeth Haynes Wright, 82, of Hayes, died at her home Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017.

 Barbara was a 1954 graduate of Gloucester High School and a member of Union Baptist Church, as well as a lifelong member of Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church.

She retired as an Administrative Secretary from the College of William and Mary. She previously had been a secretary and deputy building official to C. Fleming Rilee, Gloucester County. 

Barbara enjoyed fishing, swimming, and both camping and flying cross country with her husband. She loved her family and was passionate about keeping in touch with her grandchildren. She was an inspiration to family and friends, and will be missed more than words can ever express, but her beautiful legacy will live on forever.

In 2007, she was preceded in death by her son, Leonard Alan German.

Barbara is survived by her husband, James H. Wright; and her daughter, Carole Hall (James); stepdaughters, Judith W. Maxie (Leroy), Pamela W. Dickerson (George) and Patricia W. Shohan; stepson, Byron J. Wright (Donna); grandchildren, Daphne Musser and Emily Musser; great-grandson, Lucas; seven step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives.

Graveside funeral service conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 16 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.

In memory of Barbara, the family wishes contributions be given to Union Baptist Church, 9254 Guinea Road, Hayes, Va. 23072.
